The candidate must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia. Alternatively, the candidate must be able to work full-time in Australia.
In addition, the applicant must have worked in Australia for at least two years. The previous experience should have been completed under supervision.

Where will this certificate take you?

Candidates who complete Certificate III in Civil Construction will be prepared to work as higher engineering tradespeople or project and team leaders in commercial or industrial civil construction. You can also perform post-trade work with this certification. This certificate includes both education and on-the-job training.

You will learn about manual excavation, plant operations, basic levelling, hand and power tools, workplace safety and risk management, and effective communication. You will also learn about measurements and calculations, understanding plans and specifications, and interpreting measurements and calculations.

With this certification, you can work in road and bridge maintenance, construction site maintenance, pipe laying work and more. This certificate will also be the pathway to further education. Once you complete Certificate III, you can proceed to a Certificate IV or a diploma.
